Default MS4 110 Lsa First start up

Got a little giddy and wanted to get out of the car to check valvetrain noise..
oil psi went to 40 right away.

This is on the stock tune... idle is around 1700, had to disconnect the pcv to get a decent idle.

Ill post the raw sound from the rear some time this week after a small tune.

car will not be 100% tuned untill after a 98 - 02 pcm change over.

I believe they only make it with a 111 or 112 lsa option. But regardless it sounds good, dyno it and post up some numbers once its tuned.

You can order it with the springs as a package and they you can chose a 110-112 lsa.

I'm installing mine this weekend on a 11lsa. I hope to hell it sounds like that!

If you need any help at all man, ask away! This is all fresh in my mind!

Best advice I can offer!

1.Take your time
2.Do everything right
3.5/16 wooden dowel rods
4.Magnetic pen to pick the locks up from the valvestem
5.loc tite or grease to stick the locks on the valve stem
6.Fishing line on the 10mm oil pickup tube bolt.
7.Moore VS compressor all the way!!
8.Take the oil pump apart to put it back on
9.New timing chain
10. Extra pair of undies! (for startup)

I used a regular plastic straw to find top dead center

Question. I got my Prc springs in the mail today but noticed that a couple of my seats are diff than the rest. Did any of yours have rough edges on the seat lip that holds the spring?

My MS4 was ordered on a 110+0. Cam card said 109.5 and then I advanced it 2 degrees. I can't wait to hear fire up.

It's got longtubes 3" Xpipe and couple small spinetech mufflers.... but I may just run LT's/bullets and dumps.

Thats really odd... All of my seats felt perfectly smooth.

Can you get a pic of it? The seats are a really snug fit once you drop them in.

You are talking about the Dark colored seats, right? not the titanium Retainers?

Go to the dealership and ask for a LS2 chain.. if your going to pull the pump you might as well do a chain. The Ls1 chain is no nearly as beefy as the ls2.

There are like 4-8 10mm bolts on the front of the oil pump. (forget how many)

the inside of the pump is just 2 gear looking peices. Put the big gear peice on first and the fit the smaller one in.

Fishing line you use when putting the new bolt in.

What length pushrods are you useing? What size gaskets did you go with on your heads? Stock heads? Any clearance issues? Read on some of the other MS4 installs they are having to fly cut the pistons to fit properly.

Post up some vids out of the garage and some road time. Would love to see and hear it.
