Bouncing off rev limiter
my brother recently swapped his 2.73's to 3.73's (richmonds)in his 94Z A4. Everything is stock in his engine and tranny. he is bouncing off the rev limiter at WOT but it does shift out. why would it do this? do i need some sort of tune? need help quick. PS i'm trying to stay within a budget.

Your need a custom computer tune to fix the issue properly.
The gear ratio and also tire size in hight will affect your ship points.
Which are stored in a computer table as MPH units.
With the higher gear ratio you now need to shift sooner, lower MPH.
Very easy fix if you have access to any handheld tuner, or HP Tuners, EFI Live, etc...

Sounds like that would be your cheapest option, if the gears are the only change your gonna make. Also you would pick about 20hp.
The downside to the mail order tune is you can't drive your car without a PCM while it's the mail and it's a one time thing, you do some other mod and you need it re-tuned.
I went with HPtuners, it's more expensive at first, but you can make any change you want without having to wait. But for more than the simple stuff like tire height, gear ratio, torque management reduction, it's fairly complicated. You need to spend alot of time learing how to tune.
