Default Tranny whine?

While driving on the interstate, I started hearing a whine. I think that it is coming from my tranny. What do you think it could be? I have been running redline d4 atf.

I would guess differential whine before transmission whine.

The more I drive it, the more I am leaning toward the diff. Are there bearings that could go bad in the rear? I really dont know much about this stuff.

If the diff isn't set up properly it can whine under a lof of different circumstances. Check and see if it's under deceleration, acceleration, or cruise and that will give you a starting point to diagnose it.
