Quick question about logged DTC's
Do logged DTC's affect anything or are they simply "a logged code?" I've reset the PCM and replaced the defective part but still get a logged code. No "new" codes, but just the "logged" code.

If by 'logged' you mean 'Hisotry', then no there is no current ill affect from that code. Most DTC's have a certain number of cycles that must occur without failure (or related failures) to first turn off the MIL. Generally after several more error-free cycles, the History code is erased.
If you reset your PCM, drove the car, and see codes with a History status, then the car did experience the code during your drive time/cycle.
Just because the code has a status of history, doesn't mean there is not a potential problem. You might want to look here for the different DTC's, when the MIL is turned off, when the History code is deleted, etc.

Well my LT1 Edit communicator says "logged DTC: xx" and then it will show "new DTC: xx" when another one is picked up. But now when I connect, it will say "logged DTC: 34 MAP LOW" and never show it as a "new code." But I could not tell any ill effects of the logged code and was curious. My car LT1 car is OBD1 and might behave differently than an OBD2 car cuz even though I reset the PCM, it's showing the logged code without any effect on the car.
