Nice looking piece! What are the advantages over the stock type lifter?
Are these for high hp applications only?

These are stock style lifters with a link bar instead of using the lifter trays.

Ideal for high rpm race engine, no chance of of the lifters rotating.

Same billet lifter bodies and quality you would expect from Morel.

sweet, but how does this design affect conventional cam only swaps (if you have them and decide to chage cams). with trays out, the lifters have nothing to hold them, on the other hand they wont drop in pan. Hmmm, magnet pens will work, but how about dowels (would be a pain advancing dowel lobe by lobe, if that works).

I think a special tool to hold the lifters (old and those morrels) should be designed.
Kinda like a comb shape in alum with screw on strong magnetic tips (so they dont separate as is sometimes the case with pens)

Even if one did fall you could just drag it back up with a magnet

like you said no chance of it fall in the oil pan.

Yeah I know, it is just I don't know why someone doesn't make a tool that holds all the lifters (regular and these) at the same time.
I've seen many posts over the years with cheap magnets that separate from the pen and get stuck to the lifter. Pita to get out.

What is the preload range on these babies?

Bringing this one back from the dead....

Has anyone been running these? How's the long term picture working out?

Looks like a great set of lifters.

Thanks,
Dan

i think most feel its not as important as 'weight over the nose' portion of a rocker. not saying it doesn't matter though

The added weight is far out wayed by the lifters performance.

You can do a cam swap using link bar lifters just like you can with lifter trays. The lifter trays do help hold the lifter up somewhat during a cam swap, but that isn't the intended purpose of the tray. The tray is supposed to keep the lifter from rotating as does the link bar, not hold the lifters up. You won't read anywhere in a GM shop manual where it says you can do a cam swap and depend on the lifter trays to hold the lifters up. GM doesn't endorse this method. They'd tell you to first remove the intake and heads to do a cam swap. During a cam swap with link bars you would have to use a rod or dowel as most people now do with lifter trays notwithstanding those few brave souls who have enough nerve to do the cam swap using the russian roulette method.

I'd like to hear from anyone who is using these and gotten rid of the lifter trays. Also any comments about oil drainage vs with the trays.
