Default 1998 WS6/SS Single outlet exhaust (picures)

Ok ...I have installed the rear SLP springs so far and removed that raspy *** truck sounding GMMG exhaust. Here are pictures of the car with just rear springs installed (1/2" drop with 1/2 tank of gas) and the new 1998 WS6/SS single outlet exhaust. The car has a much more enjoyable tone until you nail the throttle...deep powerful tone with NO RASP! This system also weighs less than my old RASPY SOUNDING GMMG.

I think the stance is perfect...front will be a tad lower (up to 1/2" lower) with SLP front springs installed

looks good but I love dual outlet exhaust, just looks right. Can't imagine single outlet on a ws6 with the notches in the bumper haha

I like it a lot...for some reason the single out the back looks best on red camaros to me.

It must sound really nice, being the best factory exhaust plus a cam and headers. I think we need some sound clips.

You can easily hear the cam at idle and the car is WAY more pleasant to ride in. I wish you could here it while exhelerating and shifting gears... AWSOME. But sorry my camera has no sound feature.

I have it on my 98, and it sounds really good with LT's, ORY. It sounds GREAT with a cam.

I am going to install a cutout before the muffler.

Pretty cool dude! I've also got a stock exhaust muffler on mine.

I enjoy my car alot more since it became quiet. I'd rather someone think it's slow, then beat their asses with the quietest car in history.

They flow suprisingly well, on par with most aftermarket catbacks (even the dual outlet ones). Look at the single pipe that's flowing into it.

Thanks Man...I had once read in HOT ROD or CAR CRAFT that this system did not meat EPA's sound requirement at full throttle, which is why GM stopped making it. I paid $450.00 back in 1999 over the GM parts counter. It was bolted to my 1998 Formula before I traded for the SS.

Remember that Pontiac TV commercial in 1997-1998 of the black WS6 Trans-Am revving at the stop light. Well...this is that SAME exhaust.

It was also used on the 1998 SS Camaro

Nice. Stance looks good. The cat back is probably lighter than my Bassani, as well as more quiet.

They used to sell that exhaust at SLP for $100 years ago. I had it on my v6 and my LT1. Great exhaust.. quiet but still flows well and looks good too and is lighter than the fake duals on these cars too.

Dual exhaust tips on the single exhaust F body is fake (superficial)...isn't it ? Only GM's GTO and Corvette have true duals.

I like the sound of the SLP 2OTL, but vanity got me and I ordered a magnaflow.

If I were going to do a single exhaust, I'd plumb it with 3.5" piping since you can get Borla XR-1 and a couple other mufflers in 3.5" in/out straight through designs. A bullet or chambered muffler in the I-pipe and a second muffler in the stock location. Pretty quiet and more powerful than a stock catback

Yea... if the exhaust pipe is bent correctly, experimenting with different mufflers could be fun. But I HATE A RASPY exhaust, so the GM was a simple option.
