The decal on your driver's door will tell the month/year.

If you contact phs-online.com, you can get the exact day of assembly. Mine was July 1, 1999. The decal on my door says 07/99.

what if there is no decal on the door? I know the car had some work done on it and I believe the door was either replaced or repainted, so no decal. Is there another way I can get that information? Thanks in advance.

I believe I have the same sheet as Rick has, the car apparently started on May 21(coincedentally My b-day), and had a final out date of May 26, how long did yours take to make rick? I thinki mine was thru a weekend/holiday for that yr, but still took 3 days on the line

For those of you who don't have the door sticker, build sheets, or any other documentation there may be an answer for you. I recently did this for my 1981 Camaro and I was most impressed.

Send an email to the GM Media Archive vehicleinvoice@gmmediaarchive.com , making sure to include your name, contact information, and your VIN. They have EVERY GM car dealer invoice stored and they will send a copy of the original dealer invoice to you for $50. I know that sounds like a lot of money, but for me it was well worth it to get the info for my 81 Camaro.

They are backed up a few days, but they will contact you to get your payment information. Then, they will either email or postal mail a copy of the dealer invoice to you.

The manifest date was 11/19/1998(think this is the date the manifest sheet is printed) and GM build date was 11/23/1998 - sheet has all of the RPO codes also including some not appearing on the door sticker

Ive heard of people finding their build sheets attached to the top side of their gas tank or something like that. Any truth to this?

Gas tank sticker is de rigeur for Vettes.
The Manifest Sheet (or Build Sheet) is the actual instruction sheet that goes with the car, down the line. The codes are what the line workers use to pick and place the actual parts and pieces on the assembling vehicle. It's printing date will precede the actual "finish" or "completion" date, which is the date that appears on the Dealer Invoice. Actual build time varies, but is seldom more than two working days...

I can also run a GM VIS for you with your VIN and give you the build date from GM. Its usually a few days before your ASC conversion date.

'98-00 took about 4.5 days. '01 and '02 took 5.3 days. My Formula was on the line from 8/19 to 9/2.

Ste. Therese was down to two, then one shift at that time...most other 3-shift plants take much less time...
