Default Door button LEDs?

I have a 98 TA and i ordered some #74 leds for above the door handles but they dont appear to be plug n go like alot of people say they would be. Same for the HVAC lights. I can post pics if needed.

They should just plug in. If not, then you were given the wrong LEDs.

You made sure you got the complete old filament bulb out? Sometimes when people have to shatter them to get them out they have little bits of the bulb still in there they didn't know about.

it looks likei purchase 74 leds with a plastic base attached, should they just be a simple wedge base?

that's correct. You should be able to pull that plastic base right off.
