Default Installed LS6 Intake Yesterday

Everything went smooth. I found out the hard way that you need to remove the plastic clips from the knock-sensor wires...they kept the manifold from seating all the way on the heads.
I got in a hurry and wound up launching one of the clips into the intake port of the drivers side head. It fell into a port with the valve OPEN!
I was soooo lucky...I was able to turn the motor over with a wrench until the valve closed and then used a coat hanger to slide the plastic clip out. The instant I touched it, it fell onto the valve.
After that incident, everything went well and I didn't even break the oil pressure sending unit.

congrats, I recently installed a ls6 intake as well. Im glad you were able to get that plastic clip out of the head. I was able to keep the clips on, but I also hammered a little on the coolant lines to get them to sit lower. Good job on not breaking the oil pressure sending unit and enjoy the new extra power

Glad you got the clip out. When I pulled the fuel rail, two of the little retainers on the ends of the injectors fell down in the ports...

Talk about your butt-hole puckering up for a second...

I actually haven't driven the car yet...I'll take it out this weekend, though. I just started it up to check for leaks...all seems well!

I drove the car last night. It was a decent SOTP improvement int he top end. I can tell the PCM is still learning a little.
I also noticed the exhaust note was slightly deeper and more throaty at WOT.
Definitely worthwhile, especially since the cam is going in soon!

Please excuse my ignorance, but isn't the LS6 intake already on the 04' GTO LS1's? I was told my LS1 already had the "corvette" intake, but Im not sure if thats what they meant.
