procharged Z06 track times with vids
Posted this over in the corvette section but i figured it's probably just as relavent if not more to post it here, sorry for the double post. Anyways I've been learking on this board for a while and only recently became a member. I have an 01 z06 with a 346 forged motor 9:1 comp, F1 procharger running around 13psi, AFR 225 head, Comp Cam, stock trans, stock rear w/DTE brack.
I took the car to etown over the weekend for the corvette challange warm up event. this was the first time I had the car out with the temps above 35*, I tried Atco about a week before but couldn't get any traction.
I only made a total of 4 passes, I could have made more but I was happy enough with my ET's that I didn't want to break the car or anything for a few tenths.
On the very first pass I took it easy to make sure the track was hooking
Pass #1 - I didn't get a damn time slip because their computer was messed up but it went 11.08 @ 135
Pass #2 - Launched a little harder and bumped the shift lite to 6200 from 6100
60' - 1.508
330' - 4.401
1/8th - 6.716
MPH - 107.64
1000' - 8.733
1/4 - 10.407
MPH - 135.25
Pass# 3 - I dropped the tire pressure to 10psi since I got a little wheel spin @ 10.5psi on the last pass. Unfortunatly I went sideways after the launch and what could have been the best of the day wasn't
60' - 1.467
330' - 4.575
1/8th - 7.021
MPH - 102.89
1000' - 9.066
1/4 - 10.794
MPH - 131.91
Pass #4 - Decided since it was my last pass I was going to go all out on this one, did a smokey burnout and tried to launch hard. The track got a little slippery and it was my worst 60' of the day.
60' - 1.534
330' - 4.441
1/8th - 6.785
MPH - 105.91
1000' - 105.91
1/4 - 10.602
MPH - 130.13
on that last pass after the shift from 3rd to 4th the car fell on its face like there was no power, and the MPH on the slip confirmed what I felt from the drivers seat. So I decided to quit while I was ahead and could still drive home so I packed up and hit the road.
But on the way back from the track I broke down on rt33 and had to be towed home by AAA. I thought I hurt the motor or something bad but it turns out I just ran out of gas. What happened was the fuel sending unit, which is attached to the intank pump, somehow came off in the tank. SO my fuel gauge was reading 1/3tank but in reality it was empty. I'm pretty sure thats why my MPH kept dropping after each pass. My buddy nick (sleeperstyle) helped with the diagnosis.
Anyways I'm hoping to make it back to the track soon, this time with a full tank of gas , and put another beating on her. COmments are welcome.

looks great! those are the kind of things that make me feel i spent to much on a forged 410ci, blah blah blah...... NOT!!! (saw borat last night!)
anyways, did really well for stock rear. I love how vettes just tuck and go, no lifting, just straight.
