Hood Scoop. (Camaro) Decal or Paint??
I REALLY want a black hood scoop, but our local body shop guy wants $280 something to do it. The decal is $110
What do y'all think?

Paint will last a lot longer and probably look better but the vinyl is cheaper and should last for years. Shouldn't scratch too easily either...
If your car isn't a strict show car, I would go for the vinyl as long as you make sure you stick it on real well and be sure it's straight.

That's what you're supposed to do. Get it nice and soapy so you can keep moving it around until it's where you want it to be. Make sure you've got at least one other person with you when you do it to get a second (or more!) opinion on its straightness.

My suggestion is buy the vinyl decal for the hood scoop keep it on for a few months to make sure you like the look. If you decided you like it go ahead and have it painted on. This is what I did it would suck to have your hood painted then a few months later you decide you do not like it.
