TREx M6 guys, running stock 3.42s?
Well, any of you TREx guys running your stocker gears? I know it can be done. I just drive my SS on nice days and to car meets, road trips. Will also be getting ported LS6 heads, LS6 intake, LT's and ORY, 7.400 pushrods and a PRC spring kit.

Just about anything can be done. TR recommends numerically higher gears for a reason though. After the newness wears off, you'll be figuring out how to put gears in it. With the new power, it won't be a 10 bolt either. Plan on doing it right from the start or you'll end up with a car that's not fun to drive any more.

Of course you CAN use 3.42's with the T-Rex, but its not a good choice. I would atleast go with 4.10's. 3.42's don't make sense like running a stock exhaust with that cam wouldn't make any sense. Everything else on the car is a decent set up for the T-Rex, why not finish the package?

Driving the TRex is absolutely possible with the stock 3.42 gears. Just don't be disappointed if you take it to the track and you don't get the times you think you should get. My wife has the TRex in her car with the stock 3.42 gears and we can drive it without a problem. We are planning on a Ford 9" with some 3.90 gears within the year though so we can take it to the track and and have some fun. If the 3.90's don't net us where we want to be then we will just get some 4.56's put in.

I switched to a smaller cam about a year ago and I'm really glad I did. The T-ReX is a great cam that does what it was designed to do, but I'm confident it wasn't designed with daily-drivers in mind.
Just my $.02 having been there and done that.
