Suggestions on heads/cam combo for Trailblazer SS
A friend of mine who runs a basic mechanic shop has a guy who's ready to plunk down ~ $4k in mods for his Trailblazer SS 2WD. My friend doesn't have any experience with LSX motors and came to me for help. He said the guy is getting a 3500 stall so I'm trying to match the cam to it. The guy wants a setup with good driveability but isn't afraid of a decent size cam. He's also dead set on AFR heads.
I had in mind AFR 205's with a Torquer 2 or 3 and as thin of a head gasket that'll fit with safe P/V clearance. I'd be a little leary of going with 225's from too much low end loss, but then again the Trailblazers do have 4.10's and a steep 1st gear. The remaining cash I would put toward LT's, true duals, and a dyno tune. I dont think the guy will want to spend more for a FAST 90 setup. Any better suggestions?
