Default Spring life for Cam only Daily Driver? Please Help...

Im pretty much dead set on getting a Comp 224/224 .563/.563 112 cam, and comp 918's. I know the rule of thumb is change the springs every 20 to 25k. I am wondering if that still holds true for a cam of this size. Should I be fine, and not have to really worry about spring life if i am not beating on it???

With a ton of easy highway miles, Ill bet you could get 40K out of those springs, maybe more. The trick is to test a couple at 20K and then every 5K after that. Replace when the pressure starts to fade.

Can i get more miles out of some more expensive springs, or is it not even worth it with a cam that small??

I wouldnt expect any more miles, but upgrading to a set of gold or platinum dual kits will give you a little extra piece of mind if a spring does go, and theyll include Ti retainers for a good price.
