when replacing a timing chain. like upgrading from a ls1 to an ls2 do i need to also swap out the sprockets both cam and crank or can i just swap the chain?

someone told me it wears out quicker if you only change the chain. but thats only what i hear.

While using the LS2 sprockets makes a tighter fit, the LS2 is a direct replacement unit

Just swap the chain. My '04 GTO came with the LS2 style chain and it was an LS1 and respective sprockets.
