Default Revalved Bilstein HD/GC coilover HELP PLEASE

Hey, can someone PLEASE confirm something for me. Inside the front coil overs, there is a lip. On the revalves there is also a "c-clip" about halfway down the shock. I am assuming the lip inside the coil over is supposed to rest on the c-clip seat. Can someone confirm this. The reason I ask is because my this set up is new, and originally I had installed one of the coil overs upside down. One resting on just the seat of the c-clip and the other with the lip inside the coil over resting on the c-clip. Both ways held, however I believe that the lip inside the coil over should be resting on the c-clip....I believe this to be the correct installation procedure. The other way held, but if for some reason you hit a large bump or pothole, the shock resting solely on the c-clip "could" torque itself over top of the clip and force both the c-clip and the coil over to slide all the way down, leading to a catastrophic failure of the shock and possibly serious injury. Sorry so long, and I hope someone is following me question to help me clarify this once and for all. Yesterday, I pulled both shocks out, and now have the lip on the c-clip mated with the lip inside the coil over. Doesn't look like it could ever fail this way. Tell me what you think. Thanks.

Thanks Trent. FYI for anyone who wants to know for sure, I just got off the phone with Sam Strano. He says that the correct installation procedure requires the lip inside the GC coilover to rest on the c-clip of the Bilstein. That's how I have it set up currently. If you guys are running the GC coil overs upside down, go ahead and flip them so you have them installed the right way. Thanks Sam.

Sure thing... I'd have answered you here, but was out of town (and then the site was dead most of today).

They should look like this:

When the collar is surrounding the clip there's no way it can pop out or get lose.
