I am trying to find a Power Steering cooler for my car, and I have a found a bunch of (not OEM) coolers that are oil to air cooling... would this be a good idea.. my car doesnt have one stock but I am about to replace the rack and pinion and the pump so I figured I would throw a cooler on there. It seems that maybe the C5 corvettes came with this kind of PS cooler.

Any ideas.

The ones that came with our cars mounts inline with the radiator hose on the driver side. Then the power steering lines connect to it. Unless you have some special reason not to go OEM I'm sure you can pick one up pretty cheap. I seem people selling them in the for sale section all the time.

well the reasoning was.. that a PS cooler in line with with a coolant hose has the potential to cause problems with the coolant if the ps fluid were to leak into the radiator hose. also.. i have been having more luck finding the air-to- oil coolers for cheaper (and a cleaner install, less clutter). I figure if it is good enough for a corvette it would be fine for an F-body right?.

Just waiting for someone that has done this or poondered it to speak up.

Thats the exact reason I don't have one :)

I'll keep checking this thread. Hopefully someone has some info. I would like to get some alternative setup also. My Pump decided to start leaking. I'm going to check and make sure its not just a hose but this will be my second pump if it is bad.
