In my car the stock us gear posi didnt break but the truetrac did, I know you looking for feedback on 10 not 12 bolt just figured I'd chime in anyway.
for a 10 bolt go Auburn pro.

Yeah, I strictly want to keep this a "10BOLT" specific thread, no opinions or comments about truetrac in any other type of rearend.
Since this seems to be the greatest thing to put in the 9" or 12 bolt and the factory posi failures, the truetrac looks like a solid upgrade for those not looking for deep 60 foots with slicks.
I do not want this to turn into another "10 BOLTS are crap so don't bother" thread, so PLEASE keep those comments to yourself, thank you.
I realize it's probably early to see alot of response, but i figured maybe there were some that hasn't posted about their install, who might respond.
In any case thanks for the respnses, James.

Just put mine in last week. Maybe I'm the "one" that has installed it so far LOL.
Anyway, haven't broken it yet and have abused it at the track for 2 weekends. From the way the thing looks I don't see how it's gonna break before the tiny ring and pinion. It felt like it weighed 40 lbs!!
I posted elsewhere in this forum about my opinions on the trutrac. What a awesome feeling diff, it's completely silent on turns, and I could feel it transferring torque from side to side at the trac last night when i got a little bit out of the groove. With the stock torsen, my best 60' was 2.1 on street tires. Last night, same tires, same track, but with 3.73's and the trutrac. I could floor it at the light and dead hook, cut a best of 1.91 60'.
you will not find a better diff for $349 IMO.

My tru-trac is still holding up great after 3 trips to the track with 1.79 60's. After about 3000 street miles I'm still amazed everyday how streetable this diff is, you don't even know it's back there until you nail the throttle. It's never ever 1 wheel peeled on me and I spin the tires alot
That tru-trac is one beefy *** diff. I'm almost positive it will be the last thing to break in the 10 bolt.
I'm very surprised this isn't a more common mod. It's very inexpensive (but not cheap) and makes a huge difference in the 10 bolt. I would imagine a stout M6 car will still break the ring/pinion gears, but an A4 could probably stand up to alot of abuse with one of these diffs installed.
Bottom line.......best mod I've made to my T/A so far.

Yeah, it will accept the 3 channel reluctor ring. I did break the first one trying to install it on the trutrac. Luckily I had an extra one and heated the ring up with a torch before walking it around the trutrac with hammer and punch. Worked like a charm.

What about the 4-channel? Any difference in the ring size? I'm about to order and wanna make sure it will work.
Thanks, James.
EDIT: Nevermind, did some reading and the reluctor rings are on the axles on a 4-channel...so no worries for me
