Default trans am question

Ok I was wondering how come on some red Trans ams right above the tail pipes on the rear bumper that bottom piece on some TA's are black and yet some are red did a select few come with it black?

It costs about $15.00 and 1 hour of your time. That's how long it took to do mine. Came out perfect and doesn't chip, peel, or crack!! Bought some duplicolor satin black bumper paint, 2" wide masking tape, and 1500 grit sand paper. I also used newspaper as a cover to keep any overspray of the car. I put my car on ramps to do this as it made painting it 10x easier!! I sanded lightly the entire area I was getting ready to paint. Cleaned thoroughly!! Taped and masked off the area. Sprayed nice even coats allowing to dry between coats. About 5 coats to make sure. This is what it looks like:

The Blackbird Trans Ams from GMMG also had this treatment. Can't tell from the pics but it did come out shinier than I had expected even though I used satin. You can do it easy just take your time and don't rush it. If you rush it you'll get runs or spots that don't look right.
