FYI, you need NSA rockers, if you have the GMPP SA 1.6 rockers, they will hit the retainer. Look at Comp Cam Pro mag, 7/16" NSA rockers with a good guide plate, if you heads are not milled and not running a Morel lifter, 7.200" hardended pushrod.

wow, so SA rockers will not work with the 918... well I may just go with the LT4 springs.

It depends on what brand of SA rocker arm that you have as to whether or not they will or will not hit the retainer.

I have used them on my LT1, there was a issue, 1st hand exp, Bret converted my heads over personally, I had GMPP 1.6 rockers, swapped to Comp Cam Promags.

Nuff said.

Well thats well and good. So all post ill refer to you saying Comp Cam SA's work fine as long as you got the proper installed height of 1.800"
Running beehives meaning that he is running a decent cam, or some radical lobes, meaning having a NSA rocker is better for valvetrain stiffness and reliability in the upper rpms, so if he buys any rocker its prob going to be a comp cam, just NSA and be done with it.

If he is still running stamped rockers on the hotcam, then at least he doesnt have to rebuy stuff.

I run 918's with SA Promag's at the .600 lift and a installed HT of 1.900
Not a problem yet with any valvetrain.

1.900" installed height!? A lil high there, any reason why, did you use shims?

I am putting in the hotcam and have some 1.6rrs from a hotcam kit but am looking for valvesprings and I thought 918 would be good for it. just need to find out if they will adapt well.

At 1.900 it has enough pressure seat pressure and open it can control the valve action and reduce friciton. In other words it make a little more power.
