Default Transmission Question????? Any help would be appreciated.

Just wondering if a 4l60e transmission out of a 96 Z28 would work on a 94 Firebird Formula. I have the performance shift button on the console and I'm not sure exactly how that would work; I don't know if the performance button is wired through the computer or if it goes down and attaches to the Trans. with a clip or what? just wondering b/c I'm replacing my trans. with another one in a few months, and I'm getting a good deal on one with 20k miles on it. So if it would work I'll definentely get it. THANKS for any replies!

Do you know how the performance shift button is controlled? I was mainly concerned with that b/c I didn't want to buy the trans. and when I put it in the new trans. there is no place to plug in the wires for the performance shift. and then I'd have a trans. with no perf. shift and who knows if it would even work ya know? That was my biggest concern, is if it was controlled by the computer itself or not.
