Default BBK intake install now my oil pressure.

I installed the bbk ssi intake over the weekend. Everything went ok, with minor set backs, no leaks or nothing with the seal, everything went pretty good. We get to the start the engine part and it starts up the very first try and runs, idles, WOT, Everything. But heres the weird part, my oil pressure gauge is pegged when the car is on, and drops down to like half or 60lbs or what ever the gauge reads. I have oil in the motor, and infact I just changed the oil 3 weeks ago. I cant figure this out. I can drive the car all day long and everything is fine, doesnt over heat or not even get above normal Temp. So can anyone give me any advice? Im thinking oil sending unit may have been jacked with.?????

Did you replace the sensor? My factory sensor was broken durning my H/C install, I replaced with and auto zone sensor now my presure moves much more than the stock sensor, I have read many threads on this and it seems to be normal. If you didnt, I would say like RDISANDEIFAN said and check yours out. You may wanna replace it.

Broken oil pressure sensor/sending unit.

REALLY common to happen with intake swaps.

You could always put a manual guage on it just to verfiy...but, I agree with the others...sounds like the sensor was damaged by mistake during the install.

yep you definately busted your oil pressure sending unit. I did it when i installed my LS6 intake manifold. I almost pissed myself when i finished the install and my gauge was pegged to the right. lol

id check it asap, when the sending unit is broken off all that is left is a little thin plastic diaphram,if this comes out you will have one hell of an oil mess.
