sounds kinda like maybe there is a problem with the rockers ... let me know if this sounds normal after a cam install ...

sounds good from the back, not under the hood...whats the specs on the cam and what size pushrods did you get? Did you torque all the rocker arms to 22ft. lbs? Which springs did you go with?

if stock rockers check for tq's on bolt.
if after market check for adjustment, again.
if stock or non-adj. rockers then maybe p-rods are to small. I installed a Comp Cam 231/237 .589/.595 and sounded like yours so I removed push rods and went with 7.425 . did you replace lifters? push rods? give us more detailed info on your current valve train setup.

It sounds like a loose rocker arm. Pull the valve covers and give them all a look over.

I am not sure what cams TR uses but I think it is Comp, if so it is probobly an XER cam with "agressive ramp rates" and if so it will cause quite a bit of valvetrain noise. I would check the torque on the rockers or for a broken spring and if everything is good then it may just be the cam. It is just hard to hear how serious the sound is over the internet though.

I think that cam may be ground on XE lobes, either way there are plenty of cars with XER lobes that dont make that much valvetrain noise. A buddy of mine has the TR 230/236 in his Z28 with almost NO valvetrain noise...anyways I had the same problem with mine after my F14 install, I may have pushrods that are to long and will be buy heads that are slightly milled...if that doesnt fix the problem I will buy shorter pushrods.

I still think it's ur p-rods. too small. you need to check valvetrain geometry......
