Default Detail: 07 Indy Red BMW M5 with Tropi-Care (TC)

This car may only have just over 100miles on it, but needed some work. The car was custom ordered by my client and when delivered to the dealer, the plastic was removed and that was it. It was then loaded onto a flat bed and taken from Wichita falls to his house in Dallas. Because of this I had to remove all the left glue from the plastic and the spray coating that was put on for shipping. Clay the glue/coating off all the outside glass. Also had to remove the factory added swirl marks, Thanks BMW

Interior
-Vacuum
-Stripe Carpets
-TC-11 Leather Conditioner on all the leather, he will daily drive this so I wanted to keep the leather as nice as long as possible.
-Wiped all surfaces when the new TC Glass Towel

Exterior
-TC-6 Wash
-TC-B30 Wheel spooke brush.
-TC-1 Clay
-TC-8 Swirl Cutter w/ Orange pad on the PC at Speed 4
-TC-4 Big Orange to help remove the glue left behind
-TC-3 Polish 2Coats on paint and glass
-TC-15 Tire Dressing
-New TC Glass Towel, no glass cleaner needed
-TC-5 Detail Spray

Here are the before's.

Left on glue

Factory Swirls

After

I can say I love this car. He ordered it with Indianapolis Red, Black Interior w/ Brushed Alum accents. SMG 7speed, HUD Display, M Multifunction Seats that adjust width wise. Cant forget the 500HP V10 under the hood.

There's just something incredibly wrong about using swirl cutter and an orange pad on a brand new car I would not have the nerve to do that. Would love to have that car.

its not to bad, you just gotta know what to do with a buffer, aleast it isnt black, we had a black bmw like that but I think it was the 745i that had swirl marks, I need to get a camara for tomorrow, got a 02 ram air thats red and a black 05 vette

PLEASE DO NOT BUY BLACK CARS!!, ya they look good but damn hard to keep up with. About 5mins of it sitting outside you can see dust all over it and you gotta worry about swirl marks, etc.

Haha, I also detail cars as well, I've done it before, it's just something about a brand new (expensive) car that would make me think very hard about starting with something that aggressive.

Detail is incredible. But I like the look of the older gen M5's compared to that one.

I have taken sandpaper and a rotary to a brand new car before. Not much scares me anymore. I have been detailing for a few years now. I have worked on cars that are worth more then people's house's. I have 2 other details to post up tonight. A new white 997GT3, and a gray V8 Vantage.

Definitely good work, man, I hope you know I'm not tryin to bash you. I just mostly deal with DD/less than exotic cars for detailing so to have a project like you were given would be a bit intimidating. I've done my fair share, but that's one sweet *** car.

Nice job. I did the same proccess to my brother-in-laws brand new black Lexus LX470. The dealer supposedly 'prepped' it, but it looked horrible with swirl marks. I went at it with an aggresive pad and some Menzerna intensive polish and it did a pretty damn good job of getting rid of swirl marks. I had to hit a couple areas a couple times to fully get rid of the swirls, but in the end it looked great.

6 months later, the car still looks good after a quick wash.

beyond excellent work man, looks like youve taken care of every detail on it! i am kinda shocked and taken back that BMW would release a car with definate orange peel to a customer like that, but the car itself is stunning. My Dream car is the E39(prev gen) M5 in Lemans Blue with a Camel leather....with of course, 6 spd. What would be really cool would be the new gen engine in the older series car, with the 6 spd

Unfortunately this is something that has to be done to undo "complimentary swirl mark package" provided by many new car dealerships. Wiping down with incorrect type wash mitts/towels during wash or drying process or just wiping down the dry surface with a light coating of dust is how it starts.

The TC-8 Swirl Cutter is a 3000 grit micro abrasive which removes the ultra fine lines as seen above. You are barely leveling the clear coat surface with this product. It is designed to remove such blemishes without being overly aggressive.

As far as I can tell, the swirls were factory put in. The dealer was given special instructions only to remove as little plastic as possible when they ship him the car. It came into the dealer early in the day, and was put on a flat bed and taken the 3 or so hour drive directly to his house. I did the first was on it, since I had to remove all the glue.
