Awesome congrats man! Yeah i agree with Z28Ls1camaroguy, make sure you torqued the rockers correctly, you shouldnt have a loud tick. Torque all the rockers to 22 ft lbs., turn the motor over by hand 3-4 turns, and re-torque.

5w is a little thinner than 10w when cold, so if its cold where you are use 5w
I put 5w30 in last time because they didnt have anything else in at the store that I wanted at the time. I dont need a 5w since I live in GA.

7.4 p-rods are probably too short, I used them with my setup and I have thin head gaskets and milled down heads. if you have stock gaskets and stock heads those are likely to short and can be causing your tap.

You have a dual lobed cam (LSK/int & XE-R/exht). On a cam only swap with that cam you should use at least 7.425's and up to 7.450 to quiet things down.
If it were me I would have used 7.450 on intake and 7.425 on exhaust.
Any hard clic you hear is the result of metal to metal contact. You figure out the rest.

You should definetely have larger p-rods than 7.4.

so should i use 7.425? how do I check what I need and how long do you think I can run 7.4's
Why does tsp tell me 7.4;s? and also what about torquing my rockers down and extra foot pound or two?

Do not over torque your rockers. I have 7.4 on my MS4 which is what TSP recomended. I do have the sewing machine sound but I don't think it too loud. I use RP oil which is a bit thicker than Mobil 1 at the same weight. Try different oil first, longer pushrods might be in order if it is still to loud.
May be you just need a louder exhaust

See vendors are in market to sell as many packages in the most mass friendly way.
Now is there a looong term effect on the components, sure, is it detrimental, sometimes. sometimes has to do how good a shape your motor is and how many miles on it.
Take the stock lifters for instance. will they handle those lifts, sure, were they designed to handle those lifts, NO. so how long they last is like Russian roulette, some do, some don't.
Now is there a better way to do it? Certainly but it is more costly, and the mass enthusiast usualy try to get the most for the least amount of $$.
Any cam with those lobes and specs should idealy get:
1- High lift lifters, like the new Cadillac racing ones and Morels.
2- Cam should be degreed.
3- PTV should be checked
4- Proper springs with the right seat pressure capability used
5- P-rod length should be measured
6- Preload should be measured
7- The whole assembly blueprinted.
That are professional proper procedures that should be followed to maximize output and increase reliability.
