damn that sux, i was looking in here everyday to see what gains he got.. that sux Im interested in the intake but not sure if its worth the money.. anybody know if he ever got it dynod? Last thing i read was that it was getting sd tune today or tmrw??

I posted in your other thread. I have issues with my tranny right now! But I will tell you this, you have to pull from 7-8k for this intake to be worth it. I can`t right now and that sucks! :(

From what I heard, the initial runs showed the setup gaining something like 40-50 rwhp at 7000 rpm and was still climbing. I don't think the final configuration is complete. Patience.

so wut about from 2500-6500??Sheet metal intake and 2500-6500 rpm don't go together. That's where the FAST intake shines. A sheet metal intake shines in the 6000-8000 rpm range. If that's not you're power band, stick with a more street-oriented intake.

Just to be clear, it's not the fact that it's a sheet metal intake per se - it's the runner design (length, cross section, taper) which determines the RPM range where an intake will "tune in" (take advantage of finite amplitude waves to augment volumetric efficiency). The most simple sheet metal designs that fit under the hood of an f-body will have short runners, and thus favor high RPM, but this doesn't necessarily have to be the case - see the Wilson LS7 sheet metal intake, for instance, which cleverly packages in longer runners.
BTW, it's possible to have runners so short that you never get real finite amplitude tuning effect at all in the operating range of the engine - the Gen 2 LT1 intake is an example.

Thanks guys. I talk with Joe. He really said I need to shift atleast 7k. I`m going to drive it when I pick her up and see how she does. I`m going to take her to the track and she how she runs. Might run her ass off for all I know!! Joe said on spray she was really making good power. We shall see! If not, someone will save some money on a sheetmetal intake if they want to. My wife said no more money for a tranny :( ! Might have to sell and get another intake set-up, maybe a Victor. Who knows! this thing does make power up top though I just can`t get to it :bang: If I only had a 6sp

Boost is a completely different story. The effect on engine breathing of 14psi pressure differential almost completely overwhelms the effect of finite amplitude waves. You'll notice that N/A Pro Stockers have very carefully constructed sheet metal intakes with distinct runners, but a Roots blower drag car just pumps air from blower to intake port in the shortest possible path.

it says that cuz thats what i was planning on running. i have no motor right now cuz its being built.
shows a sheet metal intake isnt for a street car!! and since when do you need to shift high on a dyno when making a 4th gear dyno pull?

Dude, I`ve told you I don`t even have the car yet or dyno sheets. Give me a break. I`ve worked everyday for the past month and I start nights tonight for the next 4 days. I will pick up Thursday. Chill :bang:
