Bottom of Fast 90 intake cracked??
Has anyone seen this. Ive been having problems tuning the car recently. I was at my speed shop today and they informed me that if you are running stock valley cover bolts that they could crack the bottom of the intake when you bolt it down.
He showed me one off another car, their very small cracked but their there. You can see the indentation of the bolt heads also.
According to them fast now gives you replacement bolts with shorter heads.
Has anyone else had this? If so when did you buy your intake. I bought mine May 2005 and it did not come with these new bolts.

Yes it will crack the bottom of the intake manifold. I work at RPM I just did a H/C and Fast 90/90 intake and the bolts should have been in the box with the intake. They are black and have a allen head not a flat bolt but close.

Yes you have to install the button head valley cover bolts that come with the manifold and are mentioned in the instructions. If you didnt install them than more than likely you have a cracked lower manifold. Thats what happens when youre a real man and dont read instructions, lol. I learned to start reading instructions when i buy **** a while ago.

I know for a fact they did not supply me with the bolts. I bought it brand new and dont remember anything even in the instructions. Oh well i guess i now know what that loud *** crack noise was. The wierd thing is it didnt idle bad and the tune was fine after the install. Its now that ive had it off a 2nd time that im having issues. Brad i think you followed my melted spark plug thread. Maybe i found the culprit. Cracked intake causing leak and causing a few cylinders to run really lean. What do you think?

See the 10 black button head screws on the plate right in the middle? Thats them. Easy swap. Just gotta make sure you torque em properly.
