Default Are my rpm's too low???

I have all the mods done to my car in my sig, becides the stall, thats yet to go in. My car hasnt been tuned yet....and when I went for a drive today, I noticed that when I am at a stop, my car idles at just above 500 RPM's. Is this too low? You think it will change with my tune? Any imput is greatly appreciated!

yes IMO you are to low...typically the ls1 will idle at 1000rpm with a setup like yours or stock...are you getting a ses light?

I would say that is def. low for an auto, I wouldn't even expect an M6 to idle quite that low, at least mine does not.

my last car idled at 650-700 and the current one idles at 600-650

sounds pretty normal to me are you sure its 500 on the dot or could it be closer to 600ish..... 1000 idle is NOT normal unless you have a cam or other reason

The 6-speed cars idle higher than the autos, that seems about right for you. Also keep in mind that your tach may be off a bit. Mine says 1000 rpms when it's idling at 850.

I wouldnt trust the stock tach but stock a4 should idle around 625 and m6 just under 800

Yea the needle is just a tad bit above 500....very slight. So i would say 550 at the MOST. I am getting my stall put in the 16th of april, along with getting a tune for that and the exhaust. Just wanted to make sure everything was normal and that i didnt have anything to worry about. Thanks for the help!

The stock tune in the PCM will tell A4's to idle at 550 for all coolant temps greater than 160*F. If the A/C is on, the desired idle speed is 650 to compensate for the extra load of the compressor.

A4 will idle lower in gear, than in neutral, obviously because of the pull of the converter. That is normal.

Mine idles in gear at just above 450, but not to 500 with bolt-ons and an A4. It's kinda annoying though because the car vibrates with it right there. If I touch the gas just a bit to get it up slightly about 500 the vibration goes away.
