Default Strut tower brace.

Do they really work? Do they lessen some dash rattles?

The front of the fourth gen F bodys are damn stout, IMO if your not road racing there just added weight.

i think it says something that a lot of times they pop right on to low mileage cars but are a pain in the *** to wrestle onto higher mileage cars. can't hurt... but if you're iffy about spending the money you might try to find a used one off ebay

Yes they do work, especially if you have T-Tops on your f-body..

I like mine, and it's not like they're uber expensive. I know you can get new ones all day for <$100.

I know, but I'd hate to blow $100 for nothing.

That makes no sense at all. Having t-tops or not would not affect the twisting affect between the front shock towers.

So it makes no odds.

As for the STB??? Well I've got one, but seriously unless you corner very HARD, I mean on the edge of adhesion and beyond even more so on semi-slicks or over rought ground I doubt it'll make much odds.

drag racing = zero benefit from it
driving to the shops or cornering normally = zero benfit from it
sideways action and/or road rally driving on uneven tarmac = benefit
circuit racing running slicks or racing tyres = benefit

EDIT:

Don't get the 3 point STB as the bulk head is NOT designed to take such loads and stresses. The 2 point one is the one to get.

I used to pull it on and off my WS6 a few times to see if I could tell the difference. There did seem to be a minor difference during high speed highway lane changes and expressway on/off ramps at high(er) speeds.

IMO, it's worth it for $100. My 3-point SFCs had a more noticeable effect though.

These things must do something, considering GM uses them stock on W and H body cars. GM usually won't spend money where they don't need to. But the F-body does seem to have larger strut towers than W or H bodies.

I have repaired F bodys with the front unitized frame rails bent bad enough that I had to replace both of them and the strut towers never moved. Also, anyone that says they could feel a difference simply by bolting one on there car is crazy.

I have one. The only problem I've had is my FRC rub on it. Other than that I think it makes the front of the car feel tighter. Just my .02
