Default running car on open headers

I just got longtubes right now till i get my x-pipe fabbed up. Am i ok doin short trips on open headers? Or will i mess with my o2's or backpressure problems?

Some people say yes..it's okay---most say the 02's will mess up....I believe the latter in most cases..although haven't done it myself....most also say attach a 12" section of pipe to your header and that should be fine.

i ran my kooks open, dumping straight from the collectors, for a couple months. some huge speed bumps ripped my y-pipe pretty good and didnt have the money to fix it at the time. ungodly loud but only increased ~1mpg when i put the pipes/muffler back on so i dont see it affecting the 02s.

Well I believe you were just lucky......you had no SES light at all..lucky.

I did on my old blower Formula.......to loud for every day......but sounds sick when making passes.

I ran my car open headers for a week and the car ran good I also have O2 sims Also I see alot of people running open headers at the track
