4l60e overdrive issue
Just installed the transmission and now I'm taking it out for a test drive.
This is in a 94 Suburban. I noticed that the rpm's would not drop much once I get going. Example, while driving on i75 at around 65 mph the rpm's were around 2300 to 2400 rpm. When I apply the brakes slightly the rpm's would go increase about 200. Tires size is 265/70/17(i believe) with a 3.42 rear, not sure if this helps.
I did install a transgo hd2 shift kit, not sure if I missed a step. I'm planning on dropping the pan and remove the valvebody. Maybe the valvebody gasket shifted on me when putting it back together. BTW, with the shift kit installed, I thought it would shift faster and a little firmer. At this time, it seems close to stock.
What do you thing I should check out.
Thanks

Well it should shift firmer with the kit , As for the 200 rpm drop that sounds about right with a stock stall and lockup engaging and disengaging as if should when you hit the brake, But most important is the trans shifting into all four gears, But with 342 gears at 65 mph 2300 sounds close to me. But if your getting all four gears and lockup and the shifts feel good I would say everything is ok.

I see (tach)it go into fouth gear but it doesn't drop the rpm's like it use to. I don't feel it go into fouth. Something doesn't feel right.
What do you think I should check?
At the moment, I dropped the valve body and had to use a razor to align the gaskets. I tryed every position and could not get them in order. Hope that helps.

once they have been wet they swell and its nearly impossible to alighn them though its not super critical if they have swollen much I would replace them.
based on a stock converter at cusing speeds unlocked during the 3-4 shift there should be approx a 30 percent drop in rpm Unlocked this could vary 200 to 500 rpm but that should give you a ball park, Now if locked in 3rd and the shift to fouth occurrs and the converter stays locked it should be nearly a precise 30 percent drop in rpm form 3-4 gear

Thanks, I'm still going over the VB to make sure everything is in correctly.
I wonder if it has something to do with the servo...
Also, even with the transgo hd2 kit installed, I haven't noticed it shift firmer. Still seems to shift like stock.
On the 2nd accumulator. I was going to add 1 spacer to the under the spring seat to see if that would firm it up a little bit
