Default Silicone Removal

When I bought my car the previous owner had a license plate frame on it which I removed but he had put it on with silicone. I pulled it off but can't get the silicone all off. Does anybody know a good way to get this stuff off? I was thinking gasoline or something strong like that but I'm not sure.
