Thanks guys!
For the engine bay I rinsed with a hose to begin with and then with simple green and used an old wash mitt to get to everywhere I could. Then I let the engine run for awhile to allow the heat to evaporate as much water as possible. Then I came back and hit the black plastic areas with TC-15 tire dressing.
