Default Slight knock from the timing cover.

I have an EWP with the 95 front cover and sbc double roller and noticed im getting a slight knocking sound from the frontcover at idle. Its not consistant with rpm because i can rev the car slightly and it goes away. Im positive it is from the front cover and not the bottom end since i used a stethoscope to find the noise. It sometimes goes away when the car is warm though.

I did not use locktite on the camshaft retainer or cam sprocket bolts, I have been told that the cam might be walking around on my or a bolt may be backing out since i did not use the locktite. Anyone have any ideas as to what it is. I was going to tear into it today but i just dont have the time.

What you stated could be a very good possibility. Truthfully, there's only one way to trouble shoot it. Get in it and look around. It may just save your ***.
