Removing scratches from console??

Removing scratches from console?? Before I go out there and try to buy a new console, is there something that removes the scratches like from the console, I got a bunch of scratches from the seat belt where it rubs against the console and would like to get rid of the scratches?

i know it wont be the same, but i've seen a few consoles and plastic pieces sanded down to smooth and painted gloss black, looks pretty good, but i dont know if i'd do it on my own
