Default Swapping the dash(going from grey to black)

I can't stand the grey interior in my Z28. I've thought about switching it to ebony and getting some custom seats. I've had my interior gutted for the stereo install, its pretty easy to take everything out.

The dash looks like it could be a major PITA though. I'd be going from a grey to black Camaro dash, so it should bolt right in. How big of a job is this??? If its a major PITA I might just leave everything grey.

I'm also keeping the stock steering wheel and column(they're black and will match). I'd also be keeping the stock cluster so the odometer will read right. Passenger air bag will stay as well. will I have to get a new airbag, or can I swap the grey cover for a black one??

if you're referring to the passenger airbag on the 2nd post, the cover should come with the dash. Same airbag is usable.

I want to do the same thing eventually. I dont know why they put grey interior in these cars. Those of you that have done it, where did you get the dash from?

Except on a shipping quote for a dashboard!!!!

I'm hoping to find a local car that I can strip all the big heavy parts out of like the door panels, dash, dash pad, console, etc.

local would probably be the cheapest way to do it. i would also just ask around to see who's willing to do a swap.
