Default Head selection

I decided to scale back on the cubes a little and go FI on my build. What heads would you recommend for a 427ci / Vortech Ysi build?

471c1 that Steve at RED was going to build.

I am suprised to hear 225cc heads. I would have thought they were too small. What about an ls7 based design, ETP, LS7, L92, etc.?

That is what I was thinking. How about the Livernois CNC ported L92's> They flow great as well and are very reasonably priced. I need to get fuel rails and injectors anyway, so swapping to a L92/l76 would save money and outflow an Ls2 setup.

to be honest ive been quite dissappointed at the latest L92 numbers, it seems all the hype built them up too much and they werent producing numbers i was expecting. that just my opinion

You really can't go wrong with our L92's. The flow numbers speak for themselves in terms of bang for the buck. PM member " ZLEEPER " on here. He is currently assembling his build with a pair of Livernois L92's.

definetly ETP ls7 heads if you got the cash might as well go titanium valves too so you can rev the **** out of it.

Maybe because they are already ported, but you probibly know that already. They are not hand ported however.

That is the route I would go if on a budget, but if not go ETP ls7 heads.

Sounds like a plan go titanium intake and sodium filled exhaust valves for the rev's and livernoise l92 if on budget otherwise etp ls7.

Yes - that is the plan. The ETP's are really nice, but really expensive. I am waiting to see flow numbers from Livernois. I am more concerned with exhaust side flow than intake. The stock L92's are a little light from what I remember.

It looks like the CNC L92 heads flow better on the intake and eaxhust side than the ETP 4.0 LS7's and better than the 4.1 LS7's exhaust but not as good on the intake. Considering I am planning FI, should it matter that the intake side is not as good and that the L76 intake is not as good as the LS7 intake?

Power goal? 4.10's will be useless at big power levels.
