Default Vortech Mondo Dump to atmosphere or back into piping?

Hey guys I'm about to go with a blower setup and I have a vortech mondo blow off valve do you guys dump it to the atmosphere or back into the piping? I heard from a mustang guy that with a MAF car you have to have a sealed intake system?

Also I'm planing on running about 8psi for now is it worth running meth for later?

Any pic's of it mounted would be cool also.

I am venting out. And let me tell you that the bpv is louder than the Procharger.

My maf sensor is after the intercooler outlet. The bpv is before the intercooler inlet. Loud as a jet.

My Mondo is right before the air hat feeding the air door and single plane manifold. It dumps almost straight down into the blower inlet adapter. I have never heard it work.

I am a SD setup though, which is nice for FI. Consider converting to SD? Cleaner, lower restriction plumbing is a plus as well.

I had a GS430 with a blower I had my BOV after the intercooler before the MAF. Not sure if I can do it the same way on the LS1.

What about meth is it worth it on 8psi?

I do not run meth. But I cannot see why it would not be beneficial to bring your IATs down. Jose @ forcedinductions.com seems to be the man in this area.

The mondo sits to the drivers side before the intercooler inlet.

Urban Legend - you are running a filter on the Mondo, right?

I'm learning, so why do you need to run a filter on it??

No filter on the Mondo for me. Others use a filter to quiet down the street sweeper sound.

Have you ever checked at idle to see if there is air flowing into the Mondo since it is open at vacuum? Mine does if I have the bypass hose off. Hate to see you possibly getting dirt into that beast.

Since it is open when you are not boosting - could include light cruise depending on your Mondo (or other BP valve) setting - it allows air to enter the system. The Mondo is so large that I believe that at light throttle my car is getting most of its air up through the bypass into the hat. So that air needs a filter.

Simple to check - at idle just put your hand on it. If it sucks, you need a filter. At the very least I'd put a screen on it.

At idle my bpv is blowing out massive air. Enough for dust clouds or if there is water on the ground you can see mini waves .

Cool. Obviously a different layout. I would recommend a screen at a minimum and also state that I would use a oiled filture like a K&N. Since you never know when an air draw through the Mondo will occur, it pays to be safe.

I was under the impression the blow off-mondo is not supposed to be venting air at idle conditions-that is unless of course your vacuum at idle is 16 HG or higher.

I"ll check my vacuum at idle tomorrow and report back. Around town and at idle the bpv is open. When you go into boost the bpv closes and as soon you let off the gas after boosting, the big pssssst sound hits (bpv closing).
