Default What kind of LT1 mileage?

So what kind of mileage are you LT1 guys getting?
I've almost got my hands on a 94z28 6-speed, but it's high in mileage.
Should I worry about the tranny now that the miles are up on this car?
It's said to have a slow leak up front somewhere.

I want to buy it and rebuild the engine but I'm concerned about the rest of the mechanics. (tranny, rear, etc)

Also anyone have any good LT1 sites that I could check out?
Thanks!

Thanks guys!

Yeah I think this car has about 180k.
As far as I can see there is an oil leak up front somehere near the balancer pulley. (Any ideas? Lower pan or timing cover area?)
How much does it normally run to replace seals near the timing area? Will I need to replace opti if this is where the leak is coming from?

The guy second owner for 4 years now "Said" he accidently put "unleaded" in it and ran it like that for a week. Then he said he realized it said "super unleaded only" by the gauges (true?) and went to put super. Said he got home and car would start. He said he replaced the starter and no go. So he said he knows it's the fuel pump. I'm going by today to check it out and see if I can hear the fuel pump surge when I turn the key.

When those T56s go out, do you normally rebuild or buy a new one? Is there such thing as a rebuild kit for these? (How much if so?) He said it shifts fine though.
Thanks again everyone!

I don't believe the octane rating of the fuel would have anything to do with the fuel pump. Higher octane gives our cars the ability to run a little more aggressive timing without knocking.

Ya, I'm thinking it was just time for that fuel pump to give out and it was coincidence that he put different octane in. I'm going to check and see if it comes on at all, I don't really want to buy the car if I'm not 90% sure it's the fuel pump.
