Whose running 12:1 to 1 compression on 93 octane?
Thinking of going with a MAX EFFORT 402 LS2 with Trick Flows that I ran across and she makes around 12:1 to 1 compression, and would swap this into my 02 Z06, that will be driven primarily on the street.?
I figured with a proper tune this should not be a probelm with 93 octane and of course if i go racing I will go with 100 unleaded, etc.
Who is running a similar set-up and this is also with a smaller cam 236/240, on a 112 lsa (if that matters or not) and do you think this a not a problem with 93 octane (AMOCO/BP FUEL).

I run just about 12:1 on 93, so far so good. 232/236 112 LSA cam. I dont need race gas to race either, the 93 does the trick. My quech area if fairly tight whichs helps combat detonation.

This guy is, he has less detonation with the TFS 225's at 12:1 than the LPE LS6 heads at 11.5:1, and made 27 RWHP more power, 236/242 cam, stock LS2 shortblock, 507 RWHP.

I wouldn't say crazy, its in the 8.6 area. Over 9 is a little bit more extreme. I was going to try advancing the cam some since my setup seems to pull hard to some pretty high RPM, so I figured why not advance it some and see how it reacts. I may do it one of these days.

^^ Good stuff, i like smaller cams anyway. I have a small cam and i made great HP numbers and I make a lot of power under the curve. I will be able to get over 475Hp on a little 347 after i tune it and have my FAST 90 ported out. Thats prety good for a 347 IMO.
I agree 115% about everyone overcamming their cars, I just wasnt sure how a cam that small would do in the 402, seems like it did the trick.
