i just put a freshly built LQ9 with LS6 heads and a decent sized cam in my camaro....i got it running but it sounds like theres a small back fire on my passanger side only....i know our rockers are self adjusting but all i did as torque em down to 22ft lbs...is there a certain order im supose to do it in? i remember alldata or si said there was a way to do it but i cant find it....any input?

You have to torque the rockes down when the piston is at TDC on the compression stroke. If you just torqued them down without setting each cylinder then they are jacked up. Pull the valve covers and fix them. here is how I like to do it.

Start at cylinder 1. Hand crank the engine till the exhaust valve opens and closes and then the intake valve opens and closes, then turn it a little bit more. At this point both valves are fully seated. Now torque the rockers down to 22 lbs, turn the crank a few more turns and recheck torque again At TDC.

Move on to the next cylinder and repeat.

changed the plugs and it fixed it =)
