You have the cubes/compression/heads/cam.

With a good exhaust/tune you should meat that goal.

How high do you plan on spinning it?

This is very similiar to my buildup:

LS2 402
Callies crank/rods
Mahle -12 pistons
ETP 215's @ 59cc w/.040 Cometics
240/244 .609/.612 111+3
SCR 11.56/DCR 8.67(PianoProdigy's calculator)
Ported Fast 90/ported LS2
full bolt-ons EWP, LG LT's, Vararam, etc.

This package will be going in my 02' Z06 and I am hoping for 500whp/500wtq!

Good Luck!

Looks good. But dont be disappointed if you dont reach 500 rwhp. Dynos are tuning tools. The race track is what matters.

Erik is building a 408 for me, very similar to you guys Absolute Speed 5.3 heads, Callies Dragonslayer crank, Compstar rods, Wiseco -10cc, Comp 244.248 .612/.615 112+2. I don't see any way I'm going to hit 500 rwhp since I've got a Ford 9" and that costs about 25 hp. Not having a 90/90 intake costs about 15/20 hp. Erik just built a 408 for a friend of mine, he had the 90/90, 1 7/8 Kooks, and AFR's with a 12 bolt. On a conservative Dynojet he did 485 rwhp.

I have seen a couple of guys mention that they are or will be using the 5.3 heads for their 408/402. I am going to see what kind of power I can get out of the 5.3 heads. If I am lower power wise than I feel it should be the heads will come off and get made up into stage 3. Right now I think I will hit the 500rwhp mark b/c the heads flow well (322@.600 on a 3.9 bore) and they should flow sightly better on a 4 inch bore (with my new motor). Also I still have the wimpy 10 bolt in place and that will save me a few hp over the 12 bolt that will come later this year.
