take it around the block and take it easy on it. Then get home and look for leaks. If no leaks and all is tight then take it out and hammer the **** out of it.

Just be careful and not smile too much after going WOT. You might rip the sides of your mouth.

Seems like I've seen a lot of people say to heat cycle the springs a few times before beating on it...

Just a rumor...

If your car isn't tuned for that cam yet, I'd wait until it is.

oh yeah good pt . i got my wide band in about 2wks after the cam and found out that like abve 5k it would lean out to 17:1. i could feel it and i noticed that the O2s dropped off on my laptop. when i first saw 17:1 i about cried i had hit the rev limiter about 10 times before i got the WB working.

then he needs to make sure tuning (detonation)is right and a/f (burns a hole on piston) is correct. plus springs do need a heat cycle before wot. cam does not, cause there on rollers. "springs" need it........you mentioned u drove it for several days now, how many times did it cool off other then parking it for the night? 5 or more cycles should be enough. just make sure it's tune and a/f ratio is good.

heat cycling springs is old school, you dont need to heat cycle the valve srings is what I was told from more than one vendor on more than one cam install on an lsx. They aren't the old steel springs.

It doesn't say it's tuned for the cam he just put in. If he went from mild to wild with the cam, and he's not tuned...that's a recipe for trouble. It's bad advice to tell someone to go WOT right after a cam swap and not knowing all the details first.

nathan,
Well, considering the dyno tuner routinely flogs the **** out of our fbodies after a a cam install, I'd say your ok.
