i just replaced the lifters in my car and i went to try to start it and it turned like one time and quit it did that twice now when i try to start it it makes a loud grinding noise but is not turning over the motor my battery is still good it shows 11 volts on the gauge what could be wrong.

11 volts is not enough to get you started, meng.
Is it a grinding noise or loud rapid clacking/clicking?
Keliente is right. 11V is not enough to start the engine. You need to jump it. When there isn't enough power to start the engine, you'll get a loud rapid clacking/clicking sound.
Have the battery tested. You may need a new one.

you may want to charge/jump the car just to be sure. a little more info on the work done to the car also might help if thats not it. lifter type, new or used, reason for the swap, things like that.
