Default Mustang conversion headers....plates

I'm getting ready to start on my LS1 swap. I have a set of Hooker 351W headers that came off the car. These have a splayed bolt pattern. In order to make these work, I used adapter plates. Why couldn't you make an adapter plate that bolts to the LS1 head and adapts it to the SBF header? I would think this would save ALOT of cutting and fabricating with changing the flanges out

Anyone done this?

The only concern would be the overall width -- as in, would the headers then hit the frame rails. Mine are swapped flanges, and they sit pretty close as it is.

Ok, that makes sense. I'll prob just cut the flanges off. I didn't realize they were that close to the frame.

Thanks
