General Maintenance & Repairs - oil pressure question

Just got my Z28 not too long ago (3 weeks) and have been noticing when I get on the gas real hard the oil pressure moves up to 60 (stock guage) and was just wondering if that was normal or what? The oil was changed at about 18,300 miles and it now has 20,030 and it has RP 5w-30, which I was just reading isnt that great, so Im going to do an oil change soon and switch to either mobil1 5w-40 or RP 40 weight. Anyways was just wondering if that was normal or if it was a problem because its running the 5w-30 or what. Thanks in advance.

i run the castrol 0w-30 in mine. i wouldnt use a 40 wt myself. the pressure is really good for a stock pump. the ideal pressure in my opinion should be around 10 psi per 1000 rpm's.

It will move up with rpm, nothing to worry about. Just means your oil pump is working.
