Default listen to my cam only car idle

I posted this up in pcm tuning, but figured more people with similar mods might listen to it hear. Anyways the car is a cam only 231/237 595. 598. on a 112 lsa wich I just installed last week, with lt headers and ory. I just got my pcm back from a mail order tune and this is how it idles, this is a cold idle, but it idles exactly the same when warm. Anybody elses car do this?? Do I just need to get it tuned again?? Whats everyone think?

Just added this warm idle clip too:

Warm idle doesnt sound that bad but the first clip sounds a little off. Like he said, it sounds as though it was trying to still find its idle.

Damn, all I can think of is it sounds like a big dadial aircraft engine at idle.

for some reason when I went to make the warm video it idled better than it normally does, but if you listen till almost the end of it it starts doing that weird: do do do do do do do (sorry thats the only way I can think of to explain it!

skipping. that is actually a better way to describe it than my do do's. It has really good power once you mash it down, but sometimes it stutters when you are leaving from a stop light or something. Could this be an overly rich problem, I havent changed out the 02's since I put the headers on, but Im not getting any codes. But I really think it smells excessively like fuel, and it looks to be dumping fuel out the exhaust. Is this normal??

Idle sounds pretty odd to me, but not sure what it is. The fluid coming out of the exhaust could just be water, did you smell the fluid to check it?

It sounds odd to me also, I cant beleive that everyone else thinks it sounds ok. It Chops like it should right after I get off the throttle than it starts to get a "beat" to it. I wish I could explain it better, than you guys might hear what im hearin! It might have been just water cause the car was still cold when I saw the stuff dripping out of it, Ill check it today after I drive it again.

To me, it sounds like the timing is erratic at idle. I've seen some cars do that when the timing jumps around alot, especially on a cold start. Who did the tune?

Nice Cam,but too much for my taste, I'm going a bit bigger than the 221/221 558/558 114LSA that my Lunati was, you have made my choice easier. Thanx.

A couple things:
1) Your car has an ORY (no cats) so its going to smell like there is excessive fuel, especially with a cam.
2) It does sound like your car may still be 'learning' to idle, the warm idle vid was not as choppy as the cold idle. you may find after several more key cycles and miles of driving that the idle is a little smoother.
3) I'm not going to knock your tuner, but you can get a lot better idle and driveabilty tune taking it to someone who will spend the time on it. On the other hand, if your tune came from the company that ground the cam (i.e. - they have a lot more experience with that particular grind) they should be a lot closer.

I had the same cam in my 2000 SS except it was on a 113 or 114LSA. It sounds fine , just your idle seems a bit high maybe if anything. Sounds good

Have it dyno'd. If its making the power you wanted im sure its fine. Sounds pretty normal to me..

Listen to how random my cam idles. This was the untuned, and pcv taken off idle video.

even after a tune and the pcv back in order it still idles very close.

the duration of my cam's a lot smaller then yours and it has a pretty similar idle. i would have thought it would be a little "choppier" if ya know what i mean. that could just be that the idle's too high though.
