Default My 1st Passes of 2007

Went to VMP (Virginia Motorsports park) for Test and Tune.
All i have to say is ive seen monkeys do things to footballs easier then these guys ran the track....

Track started a 6pm but of course we were running behind and didnt arrive till 7pm...
Tracks an Hr and 50 min away.

This was the 1st outing with the new rearend with 3.54 rear gears and my 325/50/15 M/T radials.

1st pass was at almost 9pm....
Like an idiot i forgot to put the trans back in 1st after the burnout...
13.1@116mph

2nd pass
All i was thinking this time was go back to 1st gear after the burnout
Didnt know where the boost was. ended up being 7-8 psi...
4 psi on the TB with the M/T's at 18 psi netted me a
60' 1.760
11.519@120.10

3rd pass
Cranked up the Boos.t God i need an Elec. Boost controller.
20 psi Boost this pass.
Brought the car up to 10 psi on the TB after sitting there for almost 10 sec. 2 step set to high
Car launched well but the front end came down to quick and unloaded the rear tires and i spun about a 100 feet out...

60' 1.425 Tires @ 18 psi
1/8 6.939 @ 103.81
1/4 10.560 @ 137.81

4th and last pass.
Brought the car up on the TB and saw 10 psi again...
20 psi boost this pass also.

60' 1.467 Tires @ 18 psi
1/8 6.209 @ 114.42
1/4 9.626 @ 142.76

The converter feels real tight and were thinking about sending it back to get loosened up......
Im sure with a few tweaks here and there we can reach my goal this YR.

Here's the vid of the last 2 passes of the night.

Good job Kyle,... Once you got it dialed in you pulled some pretty good 60's...How was the track prepped??? Looks to be a pretty good one... good luck and hope to see you in the 8's this season.

Converter will feel looser if you add 200 more HP

Congrats on making some passes, it will get better the more you do it..

And dont feel bad, I won the Year one drag racing thing doing the exact same thing last year, left it in 3rd after the burnout and was like WTF lol. But the other guy broke out and I won..

Congrats on your times.

VMP isn't really run that bad. The problem with last night was the Mopar stuff going on and obviously test and tune is going to get put off when there running eliminations for the Mopar event and the normal street wars event. As the night went on more people showed up and it did get slower. The other problem was people running straight through the water with street tires on and pulling water to the line.

Was there any major difference in your car when Stenod ran it low nines?

Nice job Kyle.

You said "your goals" this year. What is you goal? Didnt you get some new Trakstars? What size of wheel and B/S?

What kind of HP do you figure you're making at 10lbs off the line?

You'll get to your goal Our track doesn't open until the end of April

That car definitely has a bottom 9 in it. What size verter are you running? i had the same problem a few months ago with the pro yank 3400, its a great converter drives like stock, but just doesn't stall high enough and the shift extensions were only at 4500 rpm which would bog down my motor. If I had something like 800 hp that converter would have been perfect.

Kyle, same converter in the car when harlan ran his passes in it? Do you think the gear change could have affected the TC any? I'd run it a few more times to get use to the car before making any changes to it, bet it'll go a bunch faster with a bit more experience behind the wheel.
J

*EDIT*

MOPAR events here in albuquerque are nights to be avoided, damn things hardly ever make it passed the 60 Moments Of Power Are Rare!!!!!!!

Changes rearends and gears to 3.54's out back compared to 3.73's and running a radial compared to a slick that they ran it on....
Ill prob go down to the local 1/8 mile track and do a few runs and get the suspension dialed in just how i want it and then head back to the 1/4 and see what she does before i change anything major....

Yeah like you guys said... more seat time and see how she works out.....
We think the 3.73's really helped the 1/8 mile before and the MPH.....

KP,
Like ya said..... we can add more boost and make it looser LOL
Were only at 20 psi and 10 psi on the launch......
We will prob make more power before we change the converter too......

Thanks guys.
