Default Help me decide on a set of heads !!!

Either PRC from texas speed or Patriots but I need help deciding on the different stages offered by both. Obviously I want the ones that put out the most power and I dont know which set does that...i.e. Ported LS1/LS6 style, 5.3 style heads etc....??? thanks for the help guys

I made a little over 420 with the TSP heads and a Torquer 2 cam on a Superflow Dyno. Dynojet corrected would be well over 430. Torque was around 400. Cant ask for much more for a $1000 set of heads...

Ohh, that was with the stock 64cc chamber size and stock GM MLS gaskets...

The LS6 casting is a better base head so i would probably stick with that, and you could them just mill them to your desired CC's. So whatever brand you go with I would make sure its an LS6 casting.

With that said I put down 451/414 with TEA stage 3 5.3's milled to 57cc's so a set of 5.3's can get the job done too.

once again it depends on your application as to which one will do the right job for you, is it gonna be a street/strip car or a track car?

Its my daily driver....Im not expecting much more than 50 hp from a set of these heads but with a 150 shot also, then that will be fun. I just wanted to know my best options....

i would say just pick out a nice set of ported LS6 heads. i promise you will be happy with any of the heads the sponsers on here have to offer. the main thing is your budget, how much head are you willing to pay for (no pun intended :-P )

I'd go with the LS6 style over a 5.3 head. Both the people make good products and it might boil down to? Whos got the best deal going rite now? You really can't go wrong either way. I run the TSPs because thats where my cam and shortblock came from and they cut me a package deal.

I'd probably go with the TSP Cnc ls6 setup with dual valve springs...

If money were no object? I'd go AFR heads.

Or you can wait and see if the L92's come out..... The stg3 Patriots are almost identical to the 'New" PRC ls6 heads as far as intake flow CFMS. The low lift numbers are within 1cfm of each other, I believe one is $50 more than the other. Thunder vs Texas Speed that is.

Your cam needs compression to maximize it's potential. But A regular ls6 head your going to have to fly-cut. Save up a little more money for some AFR's TFS's or ET's. You can mill them and not worry to much about PTV clearance.
