Default T-rex Degreeing effect?

a guy has 98 f-body with a t-rex ... patriot gold duals , 7.400 tr rods,ls6 intake, lid and filter and cai,bbk tb,lt ory ,msd wires and 3.7 rear .... t-56 and he did 388 rwhp tuned 12.5 afr and I think his rwtq is in the 36x stock muffler with a single cut out before the muffler.... stock short block.

called me to ask here :

another guy with a cheatr cam said the cam card said the cam should be degreed with a degree wheel ...
he doesn`t know how his cam was installed (but the place he installed it doesn`t use a degree wheel) his question is
is it worth it to degree the cam? maybe there`s a 20 rwhp if it wasn`t degreed or something or by changing something by dergreeing?

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to degree it, but I highly doubt there's any significant amount of power to be gained by doing so, and I certainly don't think he would pick up 20 RWHP.

Were his numbers made on a DynoJet dyno? And (probably a stupid question) did he have the cutout open?

It is always best to degree it so you will know the exact ICL. There isnt 20HP most likely in that though.

with that cam...there is probably 10-15 horsepower on the table with a free flowing exhaust. Lose the stock junk.

yes a dynojet and without the cutout it dies and doesn`t maintain the idle before the tune so he went and tuned it with it open (although it`s a 2 or 2.25 house plumping store pipe and threaded cap)

and police tickets forces sticking to the factory muffler.

thanks for the reply....I`ll call him and tell him what y`ll said.
